The CEO and developer of this site actually owns a resort in Branson, Missouri and has property managed dozens of vacation rentals for the past 20 years. Like you, he and his wife have worked with all of the major online travel agencies and seen how the industry has become more about the travelers and less about the owners.
Conversely, he is astonished at the high fees travelers are willing to pay just to book a condo, home, room etc. Many times completely unaware of the charges they are incurring by simply doing nothing more than making a reservation.
With a background in programming he set out to make a better site, easier to navigate, giving more control to the owners, as well as giving travelers a break on obnoxious "convenience" fees.
